Fashion Week for Design Students

So many choices with plenty of inspiration, our fashion design students never lacked for fabric choices in the garment district of New York.

We experienced Couture Fashion Week at its finest at the exquisite Waldorf Astoria.

...and before we left to return home, we even fit in a visit to a live taping of the Martha Stewart show.

Children Apparel/Community Service project

Students studied the construction of safe garments for a young child sizes 3 and up to size 6. They illustrated their concepts and created children’s garments to incorporated a design theme that was reflected into the custom appliquéd pockets and detailed bodice details. These adorable dresses went to misc. programs to provide children with clothing and Christmas gifts.

“Green” Fashion Week

Once again our Creative Director was invited to present her S/S 2012 collection Portland's Sustainable Fashion Week. Each year IDTSD fashion students have an incredible opportunity to accompany her to fashion week to assist with fittings, help back stage and experience in the excitement behind the scenes of a major fashion event.

Works of Seth Aaron

The students experience that “pinch me—am really sitting front row” moment while viewing the works of recent Project Runway designers, Season 7 winner Seth Aaron.

Other nights featured season 8 finalist Michael Costello and season 7 finalist were Jay Nicolas Sario also were very captivating.
